Late

I have all this work to do, and when I'm finally ready to do it, it's time for bed. It's going to be a long weekend...

Graves

I went home for lunch and had to bury two birds. One had just turned up dead on Sunday, and the other one showed up at the doorstep this morning and died a short time later. The first one was a female sparrow, and the other was a young male finch. It was too hot to be digging graves.

Footprint

I went to www.myfootprint.org to find out what part I'm doing to ruin the Earth. It turns out that sustaining my lifestyle requires 11 acres of land, and that if everyone on Earth lived as I do we would require 2.5 Earths to keep it going. Check it out! Let me know how you do.

Atrophied Weekend

I was offered some freelance work, and I accepted it. So, I worked on it for most of the day. It feels like I'm still at work even though it's Saturday. Tomorrow will probably be the same. So, my weekend is turning out to be like a shriveled version of my workweek. I can't complain, though-- I almost made a normal week's salary in one day.

Bounce to Victory!

We created this dumb (but highly addictive) game at work where you try to bounce a rubber ball into the plastic mailbox right outside my door. I won't bore you with the details of scoring and whatnot. What's important for you to know is that I've seen this happen. It's even happened to me.

Fecal Marionette

A delightful pal for your little puppeteers! Hours of educational entertainment! Watch their little faces light up when you bring one home!

Self-Search

I googled myself, and was surprised by how many places that short videoclip of my artwork from the Open Studio Tour shows up. Too bad that's my most prominent claim to internet fame. Too bad that reggae song is playing in the background.

One Final Bright Idea

There's only one computer at work with which I'm able to successfully upload images to me blog, and it's not mine. It's Devon's. Thanks Devon! This is dedicated to you, but it doesn't really have anything to do with you. But, that's probably for the best.

Coffee Stain

This probably won't be the last coffee-themed drawing you see here.

Cliches

I think these are the two most hackneyed cliches that come out of the "discussion" on global warming. A "wake-up call"? Really? Is the whole planet enjoying a pleasant stay at the Marriott? "Good morning Humans, it's 7AM and this is your courtesy call. Thank you, and enjoy your stay." I think it's more like a sledge-hammer to the kneecaps, personally. "Hey idiot, you're destroying your home!"
And, the "Jury." OK, maybe it appears that the "jury" is still out to some folks. If those folks took the time to open up the door to the jury room and check on the "jury" they'd probably find that the "jury" was washed away in record flooding, or burnt up in "the hottest July on record."

The Troll

Here's the troll that lives on top of our refrigerator. He runs out & attacks passersby. Be careful!

Is This You?

Unless this is you (or you are similarly inflicted) you ought to use your turn signals.

Did You Know?

Hey kids, did you know that the muscles of the scalp define the hairline? You can see a ridge where Baldy's hairline used to be. Ha Ha, Baldy!

Totentanz

This is me drawing. I ought to spend more time on each one, but as you can see I'm under a deadline! Ha ha. This one's inspired by Hans Holbein's "Totentanz: The Dance of Death" woodcuts. They're so good. Go look at them. You'll see...You'll come back and spit on mine. I did mine with a sharpie, though...and in under an hour. Poop on you! Ha.

Epitaph

Grim Reaper: "So, what did you do with your life?"
Me: "I had a blog."

(Note: I realize now that the drawing would appear to herald the death of this here blog. Heh heh, don't be alarmed...it's not going anywhere. That's MY grave.)
