Anonymous: I get the textures by adjusting the levels (under the "image" menu in Photoshop) of the actual texture of the paper I did the original drawing on (that is, when I do the drawing on paper. I've scanned a bland piece of paper to use as texture when I do the drawing digitally). Sometimes I select areas using the magic wand tool and adjust only what has been selected.
