Juiceman

(February 10th: I couldn't stand having that commercial start playing every time I visited the ol' blog, so I got rid of the video. Here's a nice still to look at instead).

Here's another short (after the commercial, that is) from SpongeBob.nick.com that I got to storyboard-direct. It's called Juiceman. They never tell me when my shorts are going to be online. I've done quite a few of these now, but I haven't seen them all. At least this one's under the "Most Popular" heading... that's gratifying.

The Actor

I've been a little conflicted about this particular post. This is my 666th blog entry, and I thought I should do something BEASTY in order to mark the occasion. I started doing a drawing of Pat Robertson as the devil because he made that appalling comment about the earthquake in Haiti last week. But, I also had the idea you see here kicking around in my head, so I went with it. It didn't seem as forced. Who knows? There may be some kind of connection that I don't see.

Doubly Obnoxious

I admit it, from time to time I'll make a quick call on my cell phone when I'm grocery shopping. I might ask if we need such-and-such or "What was that thing that you wanted?" or whatever. Always brief, always unobtrusive. That's my way.

I was at a grocery store yesterday, and not only was some woman on her cell phone the entire time she was in the store, she was also on speaker phone. So, I, and anyone else in the vicinity, got to hear BOTH sides of her inane conversation. I don't get it. It isn't as if having it on speaker freed up her hands or anything. She was holding the phone in front of her stupid mouth! How is that any easier than holding it to her ear? Also, since there is a lot of background noise in a grocery store, she often asked the dope she was speaking to to repeat himself!

Does she think she's the star of a television show where the audience (everyone else on earth) needs to hear all of the dialogue in order to follow her story? What the hell?
