Not Gay
OK, I'm going to venture into politics again...put on your safety goggles and helmets.
Senator Larry Craig--he's the latest anti-gay crusader who, by the strangest of coincidences, just happens to be gay. I can't decide whether it's more sad than funny or vice versa!
I want to thank my friend Derek for noticing that in Senator Craig's recent press conference he began by saying, "Thank you all very much for coming out today." Coming out, indeed. Priceless!

Disengaged
Do you ever feel like you aren't fully participating in your life? Like you aren't really experiencing your surroundings? As though your senses have retracted just a little (or a lot) and you just aren't all there? Perhaps it's a result of some trauma, or maybe a slow atrophy as a result of exposure to repetitive negative stimuli. Or maybe it's just laziness--like you've put yourself on autopilot.
Lately I'm attempting to engage life more fully. I like it, when I remember to do it, but it takes effort, and I often forget and inertia takes over.

You: Tube
Let me set the scene: At work, on the second floor, my office is the most distant point from the restroom. So, particularly after having knee surgery, it takes awhile to get there, and the mind has time to wander.
On a recent trek, I was thinking about how, essentially, we are all just tubes. Things go in one end and come out the other. Tubes.
Of course, it's not that simple. For crying out loud, we are complex beings! For example, air enters and exits the same end. So, we're also bags, I guess.
